CatchSunlight Construction

Generally speaking, the cost for us to build your entire kit would be approximately the price of your materials. Most people prefer to DIY, but we are available to help as necessary. Building with steel is much more challenging that with wood. Unless you have good experience with construction, we recommend hiring us to do some of the intital work to help make the rest of the project a little easier. One suggestion is for us to mount the ground posts, the hoops and some of the purlins just to help make everything square. This process also allows us to explain the process so you understand the steps to complete the project. We have built many of these greenhouses so know how to get them up much faster than if some one has never built one. The greenhouses are fairly simple in design as all the hoops are symmetrical and they go up fairly quickly. The video links above will provide you with understanding of how to construct your greenhouse. We are more than happy to take calls if you get stuck. We can also drive to your location if you need help during construction on something; however, we will charge a transportation fee of $1.50 each mile round trip plus the construction fee.

The other thing we typically do not do is perform any excavation. Our kits depend on dirt backfil around the sides to seal up the greenhouse. We are happy to do this, but this will require us to bring out excavation equipment on a separate trip, which significantly adds cost. It is recommended to perform this work as a DIY project as it is very simply. The other thing we typically don't do is install the irrigation system. We are more than happy to do this, but it may be more cost effective if the customer performs this installation over time.

We have previously been licensed contractors but no longer bother carrying the license or insurance. The intermountain States that provide agricultural exemption permits also do not require contractor licenses for companies installing agricultural structures. The reason is that liability for agricultural structures is placed strictly on the owner, rather than the contractor, as State laws do not require adherence to the building codes regarding structural requirements or Means of Egress rules. We've chosen not to carry our contractor license and accompanying insurance and bonding due to the added costs we would have to pass on to the customer. It's important for the customer to know that even if we build the greenhouse, all liability belongs to the customer to ensure it is maintained and that extreme weather conditions are planned for, such as the removal of extreme depths of snow from the top of the greenhouse. This keeps our services cheaper on average than other construction companies. We are also the ones that have designed these greenhouses so we understand the systems better than any other installers so can install them more quickly.
